September Newsletter

Dear Parent/Carer/Guardian,

This is the September newsletter ; It marks the commencement of a new term, and as follows : singing, musical theatre and dancing have spaces for those who want to broaden their horizons of musical theatre education !

Firstly, as most of you will be aware, we have been practising for the October recital. Please remember to pay for your tickets. Thank you all for your continuous support of the group and for being such wonderful students. The October recital is on the 14th of October and starts at 1:00pm, at the All Saints Centre in Huthwaite, NG172JT. Thank you to Ella who has poured so much time and love into the recital so that every dancer, musical theatre student and private singing student has an opportunity to shine in front of their loved ones ! As you may already know, that is what it’s all about and we hope that the students have so much fun and remember this for a very long time - as well as their loved ones who watch them !

As most of you will be aware, we have been fundraising for some costumes for next year's show, with the musical must watch sheets and the guess the name of the dolly! We have reached the goal for the Shrek and Donkey mask, which we are so grateful for ! Thank you all so much ! We are now fundraising to fund for other costumes that we may need for the 2024 production.

Our students at musical theatre / dance classes have been coming home with costumes recently for the show or the recital. If you would like to wash them, then please read the tags as some of these costumes are NOT machine washable. If that is the case, please feel free to spray the costumes with fabric freshener or hand wash them as a lot of the costumes have been stored for long periods of time and we appreciate that they may be In need of a wash. We ask that everybody respects all of the costumes that are borrowed.

As you know, we have recently said goodbye to 2 of our seniors, Gracie Diffin and Sophie Noke. We would like to wish Sophie and Gracie the best of luck on their new journeys. Sophie goes onto study early childhood development at Nottingham Trent University and Gracie goes onto study fashion and design at Northumbria University in Newcastle. These 2 fabulous young ladies have been with us right from the very beginning. Their continuous support and love for the group has been unconditional and we would like to thank them for being excellent helpers, students and role models. To watch them flourish has been a wonderful experience and we will all miss them dearly. We can’t wait to see them flourish in their new studies too !

We would like to remind everyone about the celebration disco, located at the Mansfield Hosiery Mills Sports and Social Club, The Fielding’s, Sutton-in-Ashfield, NG172TF. Our party will commence at 7:00pm and finish at 11:00pm. Nearer the time, we will be putting out a list of food items to bring along ! If you are interested In attending, please go to our Facebook page and click “interested” / “going” button on the event !

In other news, Charlotte Booker has been appointed costume manager. Please contact Charlotte if you have an enquiries in the costuming deparement. A big thank you to Charlotte for helping us out whenever we need it most. The tuckshop that Charlotte runs in the break of musical theatre classes will be on every week for those who want a snack or a drink !

For the whole of September, we have an offer for existing pupils ! If you bring a friend along to your musical theatre class and they decide to join, you get your next…drum roll please… CLASS FREE !

Dance classes : Seniors (12-19+) 9:00AM - 9:30AM, Juniors (4-11) 9:30AM - 10:00AM - both classes £4

Singing lessons : 30 mins one-on-one with Claire Wragg - £10
